At Step In Motion Dance Center, we strive to keep our dancers in a safe and family friendly environment. Our dress code is to assure dancers have proper attire per subject. Levels are broken up by age and color code.
Twinkle Little Movers, Twinkle Toes, & Twinkle Stars ( 2 - 5 yrs )
Twinkle Ballet & Tap Combo : Twinkle baby blue leotard with matching skirt, pink convertible tights, pink ballet shoes & black tap shoes with Twinkle Bear.
Twinkle Hip-Hop & Tumble Combo: Twinkle blue biketard leotard,
pink convertible tights, black jazz shoes with Twinkle Bear.
Hair should be neatly out of the dancer's face in slick back neat ponytail.
Level 1 (ages 5-7) Marine Blue leotards.
Level 2 (ages 8-12) Royal Blue leotards.
Level 3 (ages 13-18) Navy Blue leotards.
Boys Hip-Hop : Dry fit level color blue colored shirt, black basketball shorts or long black sweatpants and black dance jazz sneakers.
Ballroom & Latin: Level color leotard, black Latin skirt, tan convertible tights underneath,
tan latin ballroom shoes, and hair in a slick, neat ponytail.
Praise Contemporary: Level color leotard, black tights or leggings, and hair in a slick back, neat ponytail. Half sole shoes or dance socks optional.
Latin Jazz: Level color leotard, black leggings, black jazz shoes, and hair in a slick back, neat ponytail.
Ballet: Level color leotard, black skirt, tan convertible tights, pink split sole ballet shoes, and hair in a slick back neat bun.
Tap: Level color leotard, black skirt, tan convertible tights, black tap shoes, and hair in a slick back, neat ponytail.

Below are our Step In Motion Dance Center Season Policies to keep you properly informed. When enrolling your child, you are agreeing to comply with these policies and procedures.
These policies are divided into three sections: General policies, applicable to the entire calendar year Regular Season policies, applicable to the season running from August through June Summer Season policies, applicable to the season running from July (post recital) through August
Parent/Guardian Legal Disclaimer: I (the enrolling Parent/Guardian/Other) represent to Step In Motion Dance Center that I have the complete legal authority to register the child, that Step In Motion Dance Center is entitled to rely on such representation in good faith, and that the registrant will indemnify, defend, and hold Step In Motion Dance Center harmless from any claims or expenses in the event the registrant had no such authority.
Release of Liability: As the legal parent or guardian, I release and hold harmless Step In Motion Dance Center , its owners, and its operators from any liability, claims, demands, and causes of action whatsoever, arising out of or related to any loss, damage, or injury, sickness, including death, that may be sustained by the participant and/or the undersigned, while in or upon the premises or any premises under the control and supervision of Step In Motion Dance Center , its owners and operators or in route to or from any of said premises.
Photography/Video Release: I understand and release Step In Motion Dance Center the irrevocable and unrestricted right to use, reproduce, and publish photographs and/or videos of my child for editorial, trade, advertising, or any other purpose or manner and medium. I hereby release Step In Motion Dance Center and its owner, administrative staff, and instructors from any claims, actions, and liability relating to its use of said photographs. Any exception/objection must be submitted via email to stepinmotiondancecenter@gmail.com before to the start of the season so we can proactively prevent photos/videos from being taken of your child.
Dress Code & Policies: The dress code will be enforced for all classes. This includes the following guidelines: The current dance attire requirements must be adhered to and are located on the website: Long hair needs to be tightly secured from the face in either a ponytail or bun. For short hair or male dancers, hair must be pinned back from the face. This should be done before coming to class. At Step In Motion Dance Center we value modesty. We ask our students to wear our modest dance attire that covers their stomachs. No gum is allowed during dance class. Students be asked to sit out if they are not dressed appropriately for class.
Student Drop-Off & Pick-Up: To respect the time of our teachers and staff members, Step In Motion Dance Center adheres to the following policy for drop-offs and pick-ups: Students should not be dropped at the studio any more than 20 minutes before the start time of their class or camp. Parents and siblings are not allowed to remain in the studio during Summer Camps, as we utilize the lobby space for camp activities. Students should be picked up promptly following their classes and camps. The studio will close 10 minutes after the end of the last scheduled camp and/or class of the day. For safety reasons, we ask our students to wait inside the studio space for their parents or guardians to arrive. If a child is not picked up in this allotted time frame, the studio host will make every attempt to contact the parent(s) on file.
Addressing Concerns: Step in Motion Dance Center encourages open communication between instructors, staff members, students, and parents. We welcome feedback from our families. Do not hesitate to discuss any questions or concerns you have regarding your child’s dance experience, but this must be done at the right time. To honor the time and responsibilities of others, please do not bring up concerns to the instructor before, during, or after a class, rehearsal, or performance. Parents should call the studio business line (689-215-2213) or email to set up an appropriate time to address questions, concerns, and/or provide feedback.
Student Absence/Make-Up Policy: If a student needs to miss a class due to illness or conflict, You will need to log in to parent log the absence in their parent portal in advance of the absence. This allows the instructor to know not to expect the dancer in class. In the Regular Season, make-up classes can be scheduled through January. (Make-up classes are not offered after January 31st as classes will be preparing for the recital and the majority of the class is choreography specific to that class.) In the Summer Season, make-up classes can be scheduled within the 4-week summer session, based on space availability. Keep in mind that there are fewer classes to select from for the summer session. All make-up classes must be scheduled in advance of coming to the class, by emailing us at stepinmotiondancecenter@gmail.com Please wait for confirmation from the office manager before bringing your dancer to a make-up class. Tuition payments are not prorated for missed classes.
Weather Closing Policy: In the event of inclement weather and/or poor road conditions, classes may be canceled for the safety of our students. Step in Motion Dance Center will make our own independent decision regarding weather closings. If the decision to cancel classes is made, we will send out an email and text message to let families know, You can also visit the website or check social media to receive weather updates. As weather-related closings are outside of the control of Moonlight Dance Studio, we do not credit, refund, or prorate tuition for classes canceled due to inclement weather. Students are welcome to request a make-up class for weather-related closings, however make-up classes for the Regular Season are only offered through January 31st.
Step In Motion Dance Center Code of Conduct : Step In Motion Dance Center is built on faith and family. We strive to keep a positive and peaceful environment for all who enter. It is important for dancers and staff to feel safe and at peace during their time in our studio. Teachers and staff are to be treated with respect and kindness. We value the mental health of our students and staff. Disruptive behavior to fellow students, parents, or staff will not be tolerated.
Attendance and Tardiness Policies: We understand that sometimes life happens and we run late. For the safety of our dancers if a dancer is more than 15 minutes late they will be asked to sit out and observe class. This is to avoid injury due to the fact that stretching and warm up happens at the beginning of class. Your dancers' well-being is important to us and we don’t want them to get hurt.
Dancers shouldn’t miss more than a total of 5 classes after February 1st until recital day. This is because we are working hard on their recital numbers and want to be sure they feel confident on stage on their big day.
Make-up Classes: If a dancer is unable to come to class because of an excused absence such as; family emergency, health, school event, wedding or religious event, then the dancer may take a make-up class that the teacher sees fit for the dancer. Please ask at the desk for possible make up classes within the same month the dancer missed class. After one month the time for a make-up class the make-up has expired.
Class Cancellation: If a class is canceled we will notify you in a timely manner via email. At Step In Motion Dance Center we value our teachers, because of this they are allowed 2 class cancellations within the dance year due to health reasons. These cancellations are non-refundable as we understand that our teachers are hand picked as experts in their subjects and we want them to be healthy in order to do their jobs well.
