SMDC SUMMER FAQ's
Does my child need to have previous dance experience to attend Summer Camps
and/or classes?
No, children of all dance levels are welcome.
The only exceptions to this are Intermediate and Advanced Classes.
What does my dancer need to wear to afternoon dance classes?
Dancers are excepted to wear Dance attire such as, blue leotard and black leggings, or tights with appropriate dance shoes and hair tied back. Please remember that we are a modest studio.
Does my camper have to be potty-trained?
Yes, children must be fully potty-trained to attend Summer Camp. For extra protection,
you are welcome to send your camper in a Pull-Up. SMDC staff do not change campers.
Frequent potty breaks are taken during camp, especially for younger dancers.
What does my child need to wear for camp?
Students need to wear anything they can move comfortably in. For example, leggings,
tank tops, tees, bike shorts, leotards, tights are all acceptable. Please no jeans, baggy
clothing, short shorts, crop tops, or bra tops. We are a Modest Dance Studio. Appropriate dance shoes are required.
Are snacks provided during camps?
Please pack your dancer a snack and water bottle. Snacks are for sale for $1 at the studio .
Are parents allowed to stay for camps?
Our camps are designed to be drop-off and pick-up only. We use the entire studio
space, including the lobby, for our campers. We want to make sure that our vetted staff
members are the only adults that have access to your children while they are at camp.
We do have an exciting closing show for all of our parents and families on Fridays
during the last 30 minutes of camp, 12:30 to 1:00 pm. This is your chance to come see and celebrate
everything your camper will learn!
Who is eligible for the Half-Day option?
Campers must be at least 6 years old (by the start date of camp) to stay for the
Half-Day.
Do Early Drop-Off and Late-Stay work?

How do I communicate important information about my camper to the studio?
Once your registration is complete, you will receive an online form to fill out with
pertinent details about your camper. Here, you’ll be able to provide any allergy
information, special needs or accommodations, friends or family members
you’d like to be grouped with, personality details about your child, and anything else we
should know. Feel free to email or call us at any time.
Is there class the week of July 4th?
No, the studio will be closed July 1st -7th. Summer classes will NOT meet the week of
July 4th or Camps
